Atlas Organization is a strategy consultancy focused on US-China global competition and the new geopolitics of the Indo-Pacific. We help clients in American business, finance, and government navigate global competition with China. The 2020 Atlas Internship Program will select a minimum of six and a maximum of ten outstanding candidates to engage in research and critical thinking-based work to support the Atlas mission. We seek candidates with a passion for international affairs, global security, and global business, with an emphasis on the US and Asia, including India, China, and the Indo-Pacific Region.
The role:
Research primary and secondary sources, including government policy, corporate strategy, think tank reports, media, and financial institution documents.
Synthesize information from primary and secondary sources to develop and test political, economic, or business case studies and hypotheses.
Work with Atlas principals to develop and produce background research and analysis for project delivery and ongoing internal research projects.
The opportunity:
Contribute to thought-leading research on the most important topics of the decade including US-China competition for economic power, international security, leading technologies, major industrial sectors, and in emerging markets.
Develop a strong understanding of current geopolitical, economic, and strategic issues. - Develop prized analytical skills with relevance to strategy, communications, and project work. The requirements:
Outstanding ability to research and analyze foreign policy, economics, and business topics related to US-China competition across the Indo-Pacific, and across the global business and security environment.
A track record of success studying topics in US foreign policy, China, India, and other Indo-Pacific countries OR experience in business strategy, economics, and sectors including technology, manufacturing, energy, and finance.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; foreign languages should be noted in CV. The 2020 Atlas Internship Program is a four-month unpaid program.
Candidates will be accepted on a rolling basis.

Interns may work remotely on a part-time basis, with preference given to those based in New York or Washington DC. Participation in the internship program is reserved for students who are currently enrolled in postgraduate studies or within 6 months of having received a graduate degree.
